Chapter Recruitment
Hi, I’m Susu, the Vice President of Membership for Kappa Kappa Gamma here at UCSB!
Joining Kappa during the fall of my freshman year has been the single greatest decision I have made for my college journey. My experience in this chapter has given me everything I hoped for and more, which is why I chose to join our Leadership Team as VPM, to help encourage more amazing people to join our chapter.
Walking into the Kappa house, you are guaranteed to be met with a smile and a friend. Kappa has provided me with my study buddies, roommates, best friends, and the siblings that I never had. In an often intimidating school of tens of thousands of people, seeing a Kappa around campus feels like a sense of home.
Coming to college, I didn’t think Greek life was for me. I went through recruitment because I thought it would help me meet a few people–which it certainly did–but now, I cannot picture my life without Kappa and the Panhellenic community. Kappa helped me find comfort here at UCSB in ways that I never imagined. The people around me constantly impress me with their intelligence, morality, and commitment, and inspire me to “dream boldly, live fully”. From meeting my best friends on bid day, to meeting my big, to living in the house and making connections I never expected, this chapter and all the lovely people in it have already made an everlasting impact on my life.
My advice to anybody debating whether or not to go through the Panhellenic recruitment process is to just do it. You will meet lifelong friends, gain invaluable support, and maybe find your home away from home. Kappa is more than just a sorority, it’s truly a sisterhood that surpasses your four years of college. I know that Kappa Kappa Gamma has provided me with a lifetime of friendship, inspiration, and sisterhood, and I am so proud to call myself a member of this amazing chapter.
Loyally,
Susu Bhaduri
